1st Avenue North Reconstruction Project

Description

The city is proposing to reconstruct half a mile of 1st Avenue North, between Washington Ave and 8th Street North.  Some of the project goals are to build and improve: expanded sidewalks that may include a sidewalk level bike lane and/or sidewalk cafe space, greenery, and places for public art and activation. 

The project is expected to cost $28 million.  Funding sources will include a $2 million federal grant, bonds, and street assessments. 

Currently, the city has four options on the table.  Two of the options include turning 1st Avenue into a one-way. You can read the full plan HERE.
